A place with no gate. A promise of freedom. And a Fox who knows exactly what everyone wants to hear.
When Valor and his friends discover the Hollow, it seems almost too good to be true: shelter for anyone, no questions asked, no rules to follow and no one telling another creature how to live.
But as disagreements deepen and the Fox quietly encourages everyone to choose a side, Valor begins to see that freedom without responsibility can pull a community apart. Protecting others does not mean controlling them, and peace is not simply avoiding difficult conversations.
The Fox in the Hollow is Book Four in the Willow & Valor series for children aged 7–10. It is a full-length animal adventure filled with humour, suspense, friendship and heart.
Rooted in Jesus’ teachings about peacemaking, service, reconciliation, judging by fruit and loving others well, the story works first as an adventure. The optional Behind the Story section gives families Scripture connections, discussion questions and reflection prompts for exploring those foundations together.
